Details: The North Carolina Justice Center, a progressive policy advocacy organization whose mission is to expand opportunity and protect the rights of poor and working individuals and families in North Carolina, is seeking a reporter to join the staff of its media project, NC Policy Watch.The Courts and Law Reporter will be responsible for investigating, analyzing and reporting on the federal and state judicial system, including decisions of all courts that impact North Carolina residents, the qualifications and selection of judges and the operation of the court systems.In addition, the Courts and Law Reporter would work with other non-profit organizations impacted by judicial decisions to encourage them to incorporate legal issues in their work and to support them in including court-related issues in their communication plans.The position will report directly to the Director of NC Policy Watch and work closely with the NC Policy Watch team.Candidates should have extensive experience writing about and analyzing legal decisions and issues relating to the courts, or a law degree. The position requires excellent writing skills, the ability to work against deadlines and experience working in collaboration with diverse organizations and communities.
