Details: The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized, faith-based, not-for-profit organization, seeks a Grants Writer for the Maryland and West Virginia Divisional Headquarters located in Baltimore, MDJOB SUMMARY:  Researches, locates, studies, prioritizes, and contacts funding sources in order to apply for grant funds; prepares grant applications and compiles required paperwork to maximize opportunities for financial support for The Salvation Army programs; develops relationships with funding entities in order to promote support for Corps and Divisional programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:               This job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive.  It is intended to identify the essential functions and requirements of this position.  The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.  Researches, develops, writes, submits local foundation, corporate, local government, state, and federal grants; utilizes library, internet and local resources. Researches, explores, locates, and develops new funding sources. In conjunction with the local officer and development staff, explores, develops and resources the implementation of partnerships and collaborative consortiums/programs/projects with other groups and organizations. Prepares grant documents and proposals for submission; prepares contracts and agreements for submission to Divisional and Territorial Headquarters for execution. Assists Corps and Area Commands with developing contractual/collaborative agreements and proposals with other organizations; obtains necessary approvals from Corps Officers, Area Commanders, Divisional Headquarters and Territorial Headquarters. Works with the local Corps Officers, Area Commanders and Advisory Boards to plan and apply for grant funding. Performs public speaking and represents The Salvation Army before organizations and consortiums both locally and statewide as needed.Explores and develops methods of strengthening and enhancing The Salvation Army’s presence and mission through grants. All employees recognize that The Salvation Army is a church and agree that they will do nothing as an employee of The Salvation Army to undermine its religious mission.
