Details: Job Summary and MissionThis job contributes to Starbucks success by providing timely and effective administrative assistance to attorneys and paralegals and leadership and guidance to legal administrative assistants in the Law and Corporate Affairs department. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.Summary of Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:As part of a project team, provides regular feedback and consultation to partners and practice group regarding the status of departmental projects.Assists in the implementation of departmental processes or systems within their practice areas.Assists with orientation of new partners in the department.Assumes responsibility for various on-going duties that support the Law and Corporate Affairs department.Composes and prepares general correspondence including memos and e- mails.Identifies training opportunities for legal assistants.Maintains manager or departmental calendar.Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.May monitor legal activities according to the assigned practice area and take action as necessary.May take meeting minutes, arrange for audiovisual equipment, and set up meeting facilities.Prepares legal and non-legal documents, both independently and under the supervision of paralegals and attorneys.Prepares presentation material.Prioritizes, distributes and acts on mail.Provides administrative support and project coordination within a practice area in the Law & Corporate Affairs department.Provides budget reporting assistance.Provides guidance and serves as a mentor to other legal assistants and legal support staff.Provides timely communication of confidential and sensitive issues to attorneys, paralegals and management.Reconciles credit card and expense accounts for Law & Corporate Affairs partners.Responds to inquiries of a legal and confidential nature from internal and external customers.Schedules and coordinates business travel, complex meetings, trainings, seminars, and activities for departmental partners.Screens and directs incoming phone calls, voicemails and e-mails.Serves in leadership role to develop and implement improvements to departmental processes.Takes the lead in development of practice area processes and maintains document and data management system within the Law & Corporate Affairs department with little or no supervision.
